Lorcaserin Hydrochloride Powder 846589-98-8 Usage
On June 27, 2012, the US Food and Drug Administration approved the listing of a slimming drug under the trade name Belviq (mainly green cartosine hydrochloride), which was the first time since 1999 that the agency approved the launch of a new diet drug. The main ingredient of this drug is green caroline hydrochloride, which is suitable for adult overweight or obese people with a body mass index (BMI) of more than 27. This drug activates the serotonin 2C receptor in the brain of the user, helping them to feel full when they eat less, thereby reducing weight.
Its safety and efficacy were validated in three clinical trials involving nearly 8,000 overweight or obese people. In these trials, data from one month later showed that the drug users lost about 6% of their weight. Janet Woodcock, director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said on the same day that obesity is an important public health concern, and the approval of the drug provides a new treatment for obese and overweight people in the United States.
